When people think about a dental hygiene appointment, they often picture someone cleaning or scraping buildup from their teeth.

Being able to help someone move from that starting point toward better health, function, and esthetics is incredibly rewarding.

When I think about how I found my way into dentistry, it really started early. I grew up in the Tri-Cities in eastern Washington, and my family dentist lived next door. He used to tell me, starting around age 13, that I would make a great dentist. I did not fully listen until I was 23, when I shadowed him after college and realized this was a career where I could truly help people in a meaningful, hands-on way.
